Hey friends,

I wanted to share a quick thought with you — something I’ve seen over and over when I was teaching golf:

People show up to the range, grab a 7-iron, hit a bunch of balls, then switch to the driver and try to bomb 30 in a row. If I was lucky, someone might ask to hit a few wedges. Maybe.

I get it — life’s busy. Practice time is limited. But if you’re trying to actually get better, that kind of session just doesn’t move the needle.

That’s why I built Condor Golf — to help you figure out exactly where your game stands, what to work on, and how to use your time well.

Here’s how I approach it now:

I pick 3 things to focus on, no more.

For me right now, it’s:

• Putts from 5 to 10 feet

• Wedge shots from 31 to 75 yards

• Downhill putts (the ones that keep you honest)

(ADD PICTURE)

I also make sure to hit a few shots in areas I’m already good at — because strengths fade if you ignore them.

Now instead of mindlessly smashing balls, here are a few things I do to keep practice fun, focused, and way more effective:

🏌️ Play Your Home Course on the Range

Pick a course you love. Start at hole 1. Hit your tee shot. Visualize the approach. Hit that. Then imagine your chip or pitch, and play it.

You’re simulating the round — not just ball beating.

If you’ve got a launch monitor (there are decent ones under $200), this gets even better. Track your shots and keep score. Way more fun than pounding 7-irons.

🤖 Ask AI for a Distance Challenge

This one’s simple: ask ChatGPT to give you a random yardage (like 63 yards), and try to hit it.

Do it 10 times. Track how close you get.

You’ll quickly learn which wedge shots you control… and which ones need work.

Bonus: it turns “wedge practice” into a little game. Makes it stick.

🏆 Pressure Contest with a Friend

The classic: closest to the pin, first to 3 up-and-downs, putting ladder challenge — whatever.

Make it competitive.

Add pressure. (Loser buys the coffee.)

It’s fun, fast, and way more realistic than practicing alone in your comfort zone.

TL;DR: Practice Smarter

• Know your strengths and weaknesses.

• Pick 3 things to improve.

• Make it competitive. Make it fun.

• Keep working on what you’re already good at.

• And yeah — try to beat your friends. Always.

Hope this helps you make your next practice session more productive and way more fun.

If you’re using Condor Golf already, we’ll soon help you turn your stats into smart practice plans automatically. If not, don’t worry — just start with a plan and track what matters.

Play well,

— Fred
